In 1981, Flint Cable Television began offering basic cable entertainment in Butler, Reynolds and Roberta, Georgia. In 1985, Flint Cable acquired Buena Vista, Georgia, followed by Yatesville and Culloden in 1993.
Flint Cable currently offers traditional basic cable in its Buena Vista, Culloden and Yatesville markets with plans to grow in the future. In 2006, Flint Cable began the first stages of new growth in its more densly populated markets of Butler, Reynolds, Roberta and Lizella, by offering new digital cable services with over 175 channels to choose from.
The new digital cable services are competitively packaged and priced, bringing the latest in digital technology to the area. Flint Cable began offering new Digital Basic video service with 113 channels starting at $39.99 per month. With Digital Basic, customers have the option to purchase additional multi-channel line-ups called “Tiers” and/or multiple premium channel packages called “Movie Paks” to create their own digital entertainment viewing preferences.
Flint Cable continued offering its traditional analog cable services. The Expanded Basic (analog) cable service offered by Flint Cable became $35.99 per month, incorporating many new channels. For those customers wanting limited channels, Flint Cable also began offering a new analog Basic Cable package with 18 channels for only $19.99 per month. The new analog Basic package provided a limited line-up of news and informational channels, plus local network affiliates. By offering a $19.99 per month Basic cable package, it was the intent of Flint Cable TV to make sure every citizen in it service area had affordable access to cable services.
